Snow Queen Chainmaille Jewelry Set
Box Chain Weave Closeup
The inspiration for this chainmaille jewelry design idea (or chain mail) came from my grandmother. It is made in the Box Chain Weave, technically a European 4 in 1 variant.
One morning I got up and the world outside was white. The fresh snow was covering the ground. It looked as a fairy-tale and then came an idea...
...I remembered a story told to me by my granny many many years ago...
"The snow-flakes grew larger and larger, till at last they looked just like great white fowls.
Suddenly they flew to one side, the large sledge stopped, and the person who drove rose up.
It was a lady, her cloak and cap were of snow. She was tall and of slender figure, and of a dazzling whiteness.
It was the Snow Queen."
And I imagined a necklace around her neck.

Using the Box Chain Weave, I made 18 pieces of chain, each contains 18 rings, for a necklace and earrings.
I made 6 pieces of chain for the armband or bracelet (each piece contains 10 rings).
These pieces are connected with eye pins pulled through pearls and metal flower spacers.
Use wire loops on the second end of the eye pins to connect the pearls, metal spacers and Box Chain Weave lengths of chain.
