Official Contest Rules
2011 Beaded Jewelry Making Contests

No Purchase Necessary

Contest Void where prohibited by law. Contest begins at 12:00 A.M. PT and closes at 11:59 P.M. PT on the dates stated on the contest entry page. All times are Pacific Time (PT).

The winner will be selected and notified via email by within 15 days of the end of the contest.

How to Enter the Contest

First, read these rules. Then go to the contest entry page and complete the online submission form.

Once submitted, entries and photographs become the sole property of Making-Beaded-Jewelry.com (Sponsor) and will not be returned.

By submitting an entry and/or photos, participants grant Sponsor the right to use and/or publish their ideas and photos on the Making-beaded-jewelry.com website and/or any other media.

An entry may be published on Making-beaded-jewelry.com and/or published in other media including, but not limited to, e-books or books.

Sponsor is not responsible for entries not received due to internet access problems, service outages or delays, or any other technical difficulties or glitches.

How the Jewelry Making Contest Works

A single contest will run for between four (4) to six (6) weeks and then close. One entry will be selected as a winner.

The winning entry of a single contest will then be added to an eligible pool of entries. Once the pool reaches five (5) entries, one (1) Grand Prize Winner will be selected.

If a specific jewelry making contest entry period yields less than five (5) contestants, no winner will be selected from the submitted entries. The submitted entries will be automatically entered into the next contest period and eligible to win a prize.

A person may submit more than one entry in each contest, but only one (1) entry will be eligible to win.

Judging Criteria

Making-beaded-jewelry.com will choose a winner(s) from eligible entries. The judging criteria to be used will be:

  1. 50 percent for the originality and creativity of the bead jewelry design as shown in submitted photos, and

  2. Details on the type of beads used in the design

  3. Naming the jewelry making technique used to make the jewelry design

  4. Other details that might interest a person who may want to make the design.

Eligible Entries

  2. Eligible entries must be suitable for beginner jewelry making projects.

  3. An eligible entry must not be published elsewhere on the web.

  4. Eligible entries must include at least one photo and at least the information as described above.

  5. Eligible entries must me made using the jewelry making techniques as described on the contest entry page.

  6. An eligible entry must include at least one photo, but may include up to four (4) photos.

One photo, or all the photos together, must essentially show how the jewelry design was made. A viewer should be able to look at the photo(s) and be able to recreate the design.

Selection of Winners

The winners will be selected and notified by email within 15 days of the end of the contest.

If the selected winners are unreachable, ineligible, or fail to claim the prize within seven (7) days of notification of winning, the winner(s) will forfeit any prize(s) and an alternate winner(s) will be selected.

The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, or suspend the jewelry making contest should viruses, bugs, unauthorized human intervention, or other causes beyond our control corrupt or impair the administration, security, or fairness of the contest.

In such an event, winners will be selected from all eligible entries received up to the time of such cancellation, termination, or suspension.

  2. A prize may be a jewelry making e-book or book, jewelry making supplies, jewelry making tools or other jewelry making related item.

  3. The one (1) Grand Prize is a $100USD Cash Prize to be paid via PayPal. The Grand Prize Winner must set up a PayPal account in order to receive a cash (Updated 5/7/11) prize.

  4. (Updated 5/7/11) If the Grand Prize Winner is unable to set up a PayPal account, the winner may elect to choose an email gift certificate from an online bead supplier or forfeit the prize. In the case of a forfeited prize, an alternate Grand Prize Winner will be selected from among the remaining four (4) eligible entries.

  5. Contest winners may, at their option, be profiled on a dedicated webpage on Making-Beaded-Jewelry.com. This dedicated page may include a photo of the jewelry designer as well as a live link to his/her website.

Sponsor reserves the right to change the prizes to other ones of equal or higher value, and reserves the right to add additional prizes.

No prize substitution is allowed except at discretion of the Sponsor. Prizes are not transferable.

Winner is solely responsible for any and all taxes on prize, as well as any and all expenses relative to participation in the Jewelry Making Contest (Contest), including acceptance of prize, not specified herein.

Conditions of Participation

By submitting an entry, participants release the Sponsor from any and all liability for any claims, costs, injuries, losses, or damages of any kind arising out of or in connection with the prize (including, without limitation, claims, costs, injuries, and losses related to personal injuries, death, damage to or destruction of property, or rights of publicity or privacy).

Jewelry making contest winners will be notified by e-mail and must respond within seven (7) days of attempted notification or be disqualified.

If a prize notification email is returned as undeliverable, the potential winner will be disqualified.

Submission of an entry constitutes the irrevocable grant to the Sponsor of all rights (except as noted below) to the entry, all rights to publish, use, adapt, edit, and/or modify such entry in any way and in any and all media, without limitation, and without consideration or acknowledgment to the entrant and the unconditional right to use the photograph and statements about the promotion for advertising or publicity purposes without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law.

The entrant retains copyright to the jewelry design, which if and wherever published, will ascribe design credit to the jewelry designer.

Entrant Contact Information

You must supply your email address in the "Set Notifications Options" section, which will appear after pressing the "Submit" button on the jewelry making contest entry form so that the Sponsor can notify you if your jewelry design is among the contest winners.

Your email address is not revealed to the public nor used in any way other than in conjunction with the Contest you enter.

If you don't provide your email address your jewelry design may still be added to the site and/or published in other media, but cannot be selected as a winning entry in the jewelry making contest because the Sponsor will not have a way of contacting you.

Entrants agree to be bound by these Official Contest Rules, which are final and binding in all respects. Any entrant who violates these Official Rules will be subject to disqualification.
