Jewelry Making Tools for Bead Stringing

What must have jewelry making tools do I need to start making beaded jewelry?

I get this question a lot. I posted it so that everyone can see the answer. It may save you a little time searching for it.

What you need: wire cutters, crimping pliers, two crimp beads, a clasp (which could be two jump or split rings and a lobster claw clasp), and beads.

The only jewelry making tools that you absolutely need to make a necklace or bracelet by stringing beads with beading wire are wire cutters and crimping pliers.

They cost about $10 or less if you purchase them from a craft supply store. But, you may not be able to buy them separately.

Sometimes you have to purchase them in a set of pliers that will usually include chain nose pliers, flat nose pliers or bent nose pliers. Still, the cost may be $20 or less depending upon the store.

Then of course you must have beads, two crimp beads, a clasp and beading wire.

You can get these at a craft supply store too. Depending upon what beads you choose, you may spend another $10 or $15, if you choose base metal crimp beads and clasp. Sterling silver or gold-filled findings will cost more.
