Ribbon Bead Necklaces

A ribbon bead necklace is classy. Read how a beginner jewelry maker made two ribbon and glass pearl bib necklaces with flowers and bows.

Beginning Jewelry Making

This is my first time experimenting with making jewelry. I made this for some friends as part of a 'Something Homemade Trade'. I wanted to make bib necklaces and these glass pearl and ribbon necklaces are what I came up with.

Jewelry Making Beads

The first row of the ribbon and pearl bead necklace has my friends' first initial along with black glass pearl beads. The next row has white glass pearl beads and the last row has black glass pearl beads.

Then, I placed white flowers on one of them to give it a little something more. The other one has black bows so that it's a little different.

The two bead necklaces tie around your neck with a bow made out of black ribbon.

Jewelry Making Challenge

What I needed to overcome was a way to tie the two elements - glass pearls and ribbon - together. That's where the flower and bow accents came in to play.

Beginner Jewelry Making

Since this is my first time at making jewelry I don't know much about the meaning of the beads, but I know that glass beads have been part of trading for many many years.

I hope you like these ribbon and glass pearl bead necklaces. Thank you!

What beautiful necklaces for a first time jewelry maker! You did a great job.

Bib necklaces are one of the hottest fashion statement necklaces being made today. Your black and white color combination is a classic and the flowers and bows add that something extra.

I hope that you like jewelry making enough to continue making beaded jewelry. I'm sure your friends loved your version of a ribbon bead necklace.
