Shell and Chain Necklace

by Jennifer Hale

This necklace is made on silver plated chain with a large focal charm made of wood and mother of pearl, green and tan mother of pearl disks, green and tan shell beads, white shells, and white fresh water pearls.

Supplies

1 toggle clasp
length of chain, length depends on how long you want the necklace
1 large focal charm
10 head pins
jump rings- how many depends on how far you want shells and beads to go up the necklace
2 or more donut shaped shell charms
2 or more white shell disks
2 or more white fresh water pearls
4 or more white shells
6 or more green shell beads
2 or more tan shell beads

Tools

Round nose pliers to make the loops on your eye pins
2 pairs of pliers to open and close the jump rings on the chain.

Step 1
Begin by measuring out your length of chain and attach your chosen toggle clasp to the ends.

Step 2
Decide how many beads and charms you will use and place beads on head pins and jump rings on charms

Step 3
On center of chain attach large focal charm, the charm I used slid right on the chain before I added the toggles.

Step 4
Depending on the size of the chain links, count over 1-3 links and attach your charms and beads and count 1-3 between every shell and bead in the order you choose.

My choice of order was, fresh water pearl, tan shell bead, green mother of pearl disk, white shell, green shell bead, green mother of pearl disk, donut shape shell charm with green shell bead attached, white shell, green mother of pearl disk, white shell disk with green shell bead attached.

Repeat on other side of focal charm.

You can continue with your shells and beads as far around the necklace as you would like, I stopped to allow the chain to be seen.
